Perhaps she agreed to take it down but by then, Change.org already removed it. I would be surprised if Change.org wrote "After review we removed it" if it had already been taken down by the woman before.

The DDF'er spoke to her at around 3pm, it stayed up for a few more hours, as "Apparently you need Change.org to respond to a request to take it down". She was not able remove the petition on her own.

Edit: I'm sure there were requests from multiple people, but I'm sure it helped if she requested it herself.

That is correct. I once deleted a petition, it took about two business days for the petition to disappear.

Edit: Also, Change.org mandates that the host post an update to explain why they are deleting the petition. https://help.change.org/s/article/How-to-delete-your-petition?language=en

No update appeared. Perhaps she initiated the process but Change.org removed it due to concerns of bigotry and incitement.

great work! Very scary how many thousands of people jump aboard a misinformed bandwagon based on heresay...
