Because optics aren't the end all of Judaism. Sometimes it's taken into account but definitely not the end all. I'm going to presume that you wear a streimel. I've personally heard people talk about those crazy people who wear funny fur hats and stick out like a sore thumb. If all your concerns about is optics, consider changing your clothing. There's more to social distancing that just optics. Why can't you see that.

2. Please define Aiva in this context. I posit it is 100% optics ALWAYS. I will say it again, we are mechalel shabbos d'oraysos on safekk pikuach nefesh because of aiva...becuase we dont want trouble legally and because it looks bad. This was R' Moshe's Psak and you can ask Rav Dovid Cohen about it too.
