Yes, you're right. Thank you. I feel so stupid, I guess with everything going on we sometimes forget basics. I think I'm gonna stick with the ocean instead of hunting for a hardware store that'll do me the biggest favor in the world and let me use their mikva.

Serious question: Is anyone aware of any keilim mikva that is still open in NYC (that is not exclusive for store clients)?

All hardware stores I checked still have their mikva open but only for keilim bought in their store.

This has been proposed by various Rabonim regarding coffee machines that can't be toiveled properly.

I know quite a few offices, that have "given" the machines to employees. Some have actually taken it home...

Tried out the new glasses store in the new Marcy’s plaza last night. It’s called MS Optical, and it’s a branch of a Boro Park store. Was really impressed. Nice selection even in low price range. My glasses were less then $200, all included, and I was prepared to pay a lot more. (They had all price ranges.) They’re running a 15% off sale now for the opening. It was really empty still so I got great service. Definitely a place to check out if you need glasses. (No, I have no relation or connect- I just randomly went there and was thoroughly impressed.)

I posted about this glasses store when they opened, and I want to follow up.
My kid cracked my glasses yesterday. I called MS Optical (732-655-2020 - this number is Whatsapp-able also) and asked if I can order the same glasses and prescription that I got in 2018 when they opened. The guy was at my door within an hour and he took my measurements (with a facemask...). They have it in and I should have my new glasses tomorrow. (Cost $199, but upgraded lens so $259.)

I'm not sure if business is slow because of coronavirus so they are over-accommodating, or they just understand costumer service. Whatever the case, if you need glasses in Lakewood now, it's easier to buy glasses now than other times.

I know I sound like I know the guy or own the store, but I really have no connection. Just impressed enough to share.

Very cool. Still hard to buy if you want too choose frames etc. then again, glasses are essential (for some?), which frames you wear aren’t.

I would assume that they could bring you options but I didn't ask for any because I like my current glasses.

BTW, he told me after that he always does house calls if the customer needs one.

You can’t handle that transaction from six feet away... Trying on multiple pairs of glasses on your face, when who knows who else is trying them on, doesn’t sound like the safest thing in this current uncertain climate.
