Thank you all!

The quarantine is gonna be worse than the symptoms.

Any DPs on how long it took to get out?

It's been a week since I first felt symptoms 1st 2 days were the worst, I actually thought it was over by day 4/5 but I started feeling some symptoms again on Day 6

It depends on the person. 17 year old sister was over in less than 48 hours. My father is at least a week and a half now and still quite sick.
And how long should she avoid contact with others? Trying to figure out how long people must quarantine for.

I think it's 14 days regardless but at least 72 hours from last symptoms ( if had symptoms more than 11 days in)
I'm not who you think I am.

I was told 7 days from onset of symptoms, provided they are gone for 72 hours.

What did you take for it? My headache wont go away  :(

Headache is gone, b'H! and I was fine for a bit but now I have tremendous sinus pressure, the likes of which I don't recall ever feeling.

The decision to discontinue home isolation should be made in the context of local circumstances. Options now include both 1) a time-since-illness-onset and time-since-recovery (non-test-based) strategy, and 2) a test-based strategy.

Time-since-illness-onset and time-since-recovery strategy (non-test-based strategy)*
Persons with COVID-19 who have symptoms and were directed to care for themselves at home may discontinue home isolation under the  following conditions:

At least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since recovery defined as resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and improvement in respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath); and,
At least 7 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.

----------

Test-based strategy (simplified from initial protocol) Previous recommendations for a test-based strategy remain applicable; however, a test-based strategy is contingent on the availability of ample testing supplies and laboratory capacity as well as convenient access to testing. For jurisdictions that choose to use a test-based strategy, the recommended protocol has been simplified so that only one swab is needed at every sampling.

Persons who have COVID-19 who have symptoms and were directed to care for themselves at home may discontinue home isolation under the following conditions:

Resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and
Improvement in respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath) and
Negative results of an FDA Emergency Use Authorized molecular assay for COVID-19 from at least two consecutive nasopharyngeal swab specimens collected ≥24 hours apart** (total of two negative specimens). See Interim Guidelines for Collecting, Handling, and Testing Clinical Specimens from Persons Under Investigation (PUIs) for 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)for specimen collection guidance.
Individuals with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 who have not had any symptoms may discontinue home isolation when at least 7 days have passed since the date of their first positive COVID-19 diagnostic  test and have had no subsequent illness.

Footnote
*This recommendation will prevent most, but may not prevent all instances of secondary spread.  The risk of transmission after recovery, is likely very substantially less than that during illness.

**All test results should be final before isolation is ended. Testing guidance is based upon limited information and is subject to change as more information becomes available.

So why is there a 14 day quarantine? It could be less according to these standards...

I thought the 14 day quarantine was to see if symptoms occur after exposure.

That’s when you don’t know. If someone is positive, they can potentially be out sooner.

From exposure, for someone who may have it, as opposed to beginning of symptoms for someone who does.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

This is for someone with a confirmed case.
I didn't start having symptoms till about a week after I believe the most likely point of infection

Are there specific types of headaches that are attributed to Corona? Had a headache behind the ears that was unbearable. Don’t think I ever had such a headache....

My wife has all symptoms, and I’m fine BH. She didn’t test because she’s BH healthy and they’re not doing tests here anymore on healthy people.

I had GI issues for over a week, and then a bad cough with some chest tightness over the last few days. Along with some intermittent body aches and chills, but no fever. In NJ, and 3/4 of my neighborhood experiencing some of the same symptoms, but they will not test unless you need to be hospitalized. I'm pretty much just waiting to lose my sense of taste/smell now to confirm (and also cause I heard that is a sign that virus is on way out). BH while I do feel like just climbing into bed half the time, I am definitely able to function, hope it doesnt get worse.... On the silver lining front, between the stomach issues and not much appetite, I have lost 13 lbs. over the past week  :)

You've been able to do in a week what I haven't been able to do in a year!
