Temporary?
Hopefully. Doesn't seem consistent that they would drop out without notice after all the work and money they invested in Israel. It would have made sense if they opened a warehouse here and stopped the shipping from America but the suddenness of the move makes me hope this is just a Covid 19 response.
Don't forget that Amazon ships everything by air and there are very few flights left between Israel and the U.S. Maybe their contract was with Delta and/or United and they aren't sure they will have a shipping method in the near future...
