Price gouging at it's worst.
Owner told me he paid $16 for it.
A stupid move, he shouldn't sell Purell altogether, people get upset at HIM.
possibly, but could hardly be called gouging.
No actually it is. Price he paid doesn't matter.
if not by the supermarket then by the wholesaler
-1At least by NJ law, but the person he bought it from may be. There was an article about a store selling for 30 and the owner said that he is barely making anything. The AG office said they are going to investigate who it is that is doing the gouging.
Many price gouging laws go by market value. If you paid price gouging prices that is your problem. Ignorance is no excuse as AG Barr said at the press conference today.
I am not familiar with every state's law but in NJ price paid is relevant but only in determining who did it.
Very interesting and makes no sense. Selling an item for 20.00 that normally costs 5.00 is gouging. I guess in NJ if you buy at a gouging price you are allowed to then pass that gouging price along.
You were not the one who did it. They will go after the one who did.
I understand that. Why did he buy them to begin with? He knew who he sold them to would be a victim of price gouging.NJ law makes no sense.
I tried to go in Empire Kosher in CH this morning, as a salesman not a shopper, the security guard didn't let le in unless I buy their $2 mask (not even a N95).What do you guys think about it?
Is it illegal to hoard ?
From yesterday's presser..Attorney General Barr: if you are sitting on a stockpile of surgical masks you'll be hearing a knock on the door
