Lying to a police officer is a chargeable offense.

Weird, because prices have dropped over the past few days...why was he hording?

The only reason I can think of is....that he bought it very high and couldn't turn a profit ( or large profit..).

All the time. Even small insignificant lies can get you in jail. Never talk to the cops/feds.
