I just don't get why the use of the opportunity like this to find fault aren't they supposed to be find zechusim?

And why doesn't the leadership take responsibility for not seeing this coming and not taking preventive measures

these are spiritual speeches. Throughout our history , our leaders’ job was to keep us in check. Think Mordechai hatzadik. Not necessary looking to find fault, but rather omg reflecting on a possible message from Hashem to improve our spiritual health. Talking physical preventive measures in this context is totally missing the point.

I do see the irony though of rabbis who could have done more to stop the spread talking about why this is happening.

I was always taught, through my rabbeim and rav of my shul that when things happen in the world it’s a message for us.(Gemara don’t remember where) I remember hearing the shabbos drasha turning to events happening in other countries that had no effect  on our shores. Yet it was always viewed as a wake up call for us here.

They are the 4 rabbis that I confronted and downplayed the whole thing, and all others that did the same thing. They got very good, verifiable info and buried their head in the sand. It might not have been easy for them, but instead of adding precautions or making announcements, they ignored the whole thing. Extremely ignorant and reckless. People are literally dying and they could have saved them.

I guess we look at it differently. Any major tragedy in the US or to US citizens is not a distance place to me. Am I disconnected to children suffering all over the world, yes.
