People have no idea how much he helped so many in this field. Most of it is personal and cannot be elaborated on, but he stepped up when others threw in the towel.

How does one even begin to describe such a Gadol in maasim? A free loan gemach? Provider of free and reduced price food for nitzrachim? An employer of those who couldn’t find work? A criminal and civil legal advisor? Supporter of Almanos, yesomim, and every other need? An affordable Grocery proprietor? Kiruv? Kashrus problem solver? Inventor of the pesach immersion heater? Divorce and sholom bayis arbitrator? Strategizer and problem solver for mass victims of credit card swipers?

I couldn’t go on with another 50 items and I only know the tip of the iceberg. The loss to Lakewood and to Klal Yisroel is staggering. There will be an immediate void for the hundreds who were leaning on his shoulders as we speak and don’t know where to turn. Hashem has taken giant from our midst. It is all of Lakewood’s loss to mourn. וכל בית ישראל יבכו את השריפה אשר שרף השם

Every one  of the tens of thousands of individuals in Lakewood who found a shoulder to cry on, advice for legal trouble, help for parnassa issues- both with eitzos and with money, solutions to countless Halacha and practical issues that affected the Tzibur, and on and on, should be crying now with the petira of Rav Zeev Rothchild Zecher Tzaddik Livracha. So much of Lakewood stood on his shoulders. There was so much that wasn’t even known. There is no one who can replace him. A book can be written about his incredible works. Yehi Zichro Boruch.

I had the great zchus to meet and interact with R' Zeev once, when someone I know dealt dishonestly with R Zeev's businesses, was questioned about invoices, and asked me to intervene to help negotiate a settlement.

R Zeev was amazing in his understanding and opening up for this individual to do teshuva. Asking him to take an order right away. He made an unbelievable impression.

Now that he’s at the Mizrach wall in Gan Eden, he should be a gutte better for all of Klal Yisroel, we need it more than ever.
