I'd say only Lakewood. Didnt see any stores out of stock here.
Probably all given out at the lunch distributions with a bag of rolls.
I'm not who you think I am.

A dozen eggs rang up at 4.19 in one of the local Lakewood stores before pesach. Costco had 5 dozen for 7.99. Strange...

I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

It sounds like there was no shortage of eggs, just market inefficiencies.

Sounds a bit similar (but not quite) like the toilet paper shortage Medium.com article posted elsewhere on DDF.

That, or just artificial scarcity as an excuse to raise prices.

I was thinking about that article when I posted this one.

Eggs are still different from TP in that:
1. The restaurant-grade eggs themselves are probably the same as the ones I’m buying by the dozen at my local grocer.
2. The industrial/institutional TP is not the same as the triple-ply tush-coddling variety people buy for home use.

For that reason I’d buy a tray of these eggs if I get an extra tray to put on top so I can get them home without breaking them. But I wouldn’t buy the single-ply massive rolls of TP for home use if there was another option.

Before pesach they could've easily sold them in the Jewish neighborhoods by the case.

Right but I imagine they would have a hard time packaging all their eggs for retail and not all stores or customers would be as willing as you to buy the 2.5 dozen trays.

Right. I bought by the case from a distributor and still paid $2.75 a dozen

Wasn't the distributor.

I know a distributor who couldn't get adequate supply from the farm.
