I really have no idea where you’re going with this. What was wrong with what I said?I responded to this inane comment:
Where did those people with the virus “forced” into the facilities get infected? Wuhan? What was the (flawed) reasoning behind the policy?
and I replied to this
See my clarification above. It had written a response to @S209 defending Coumo by saying that we were less successful than others AT THAT TIME. That is UTTER STUPIDITY AND REVISIONIST HISTORY.
Let's not forget Coumo didn't actually inhibit facilities from quarntining Covid suspected residents returned from hospitals.
And no reason at all to Dan him lkaf zechus!
but Coumo has done his best to help NY.
completely indefensible no matter which way you slice it.
Right, we were unsuccessful at keeping the virus at bay like other countries were. That’s the point. Cuomo is not responsible for the large discrepancy between the countries mentioned. Related question: Is the percentage of deaths in nursing homes vs. other locations different in Florida and Texas than NY?
The US has 3x the death rate of Canada. 38k people died in NYS from Covid. At most Cuomo is responsible for 10% of US deaths. Even if you don't count them, the US has one of the highest death rates in the world. Coumo made a horrific mistake, but it was done at the height of extreme fear and unknown conditions (because the Federal government blocked testing), and quickly rectified. The same mistake was made by ~25 other governments. Let's not forget Coumo didn't actually inhibit facilities from quarntining Covid suspected residents returned from hospitals. Trump is still promoting large congregations without masks, and Pence is skiing in Vail while shifting responsibility for vaccination to the states. Yes, the States are responsible, but the Federal gov't should be helping instead of vacationing. I know most people here are irreparably convinced of Coumo-Bad-Trump-Good, but Coumo has done his best to help NY. Trump is playing golf and doing nothing.
Last Sept, Politico reported that Trump appointees at HHS interfered with CDC reports on Covid (h/t @azeen)I got the emails via #FOIA (quoted by Politico) laying bare the political interference by Trump's appointees. Just stunning. pic.twitter.com/JY16JWrDLQ— Jason Leopold (@JasonLeopold) January 26, 2021

I don’t get how the pictures in the tweet show interference.
Here’s Fauci explaining that the evidence shows that open schools actually seem more likely to reduce covid spread than if the schools were closed. So the learning loss and child abuse and pediatric suicides actually made covid worse.Oopsie daisy! pic.twitter.com/ROVM4nJXf0— Zac Bissonnette (@ZacBissonnette) January 28, 2021
