Toothache--COVID-19 Symptom?
« on: March 29, 2020, 10:35:37 PM »
I’ve noticed that some of my family members that tested positive for corona are complaining about sharp pain in teeth like infection and root canals. Is it possible to be a side effect?

That's weird I currently have a toothache and it's there for the last couple of days but no other symptoms.

I had the flu earlier this year. About a week later I had a massive toothache. Went to the dentist and his first question was if I had the flu the previous week. Apparently what happens is the mucus doesn't completely drain and was sitting above my tooth as a remnant of the flu. He told me to wait a couple days and the pain will go away. Actually saw the x-rays of the mucus pool.

I guess we just have to wait a week for ther CDC to add it as a symptom.
I'm not who you think I am.

correct. can be a symptom if one of the maxillary sinuses are inflamed due to congestion putting pressure on your molars, resulting in a toothache.

From a dentist who I sent this thread to: “ I wouldn't think it's from the teeth. Likely some sort of sinus buildup /congestion”

Don't understand. If someone brushes regularly, where would the buildup be, enough to actually be visible on an x-ray?
Wondering because I have a toothache.

Your sinuses sit above your teeth and below your eyes.  A sinus infection is often felt as pain in the upper teeth.  As far as I understand, this is a result of fluid buildup in the sinuses that applies pressure on the nerves to the teeth.

Remember to use Tylenol, not Ibuprofen, just in case.

DW also just got a strong toothache.   im starting to seriously wonder if this is a symptom.  she doesn't have any other symptoms b"h.

or its just a coincidence that many people got tooth aches now ;)
