Translation ?
you can drop off packages on yom tov and a goy will bring them to patients in the hospitals.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Really hope this is true, last I heard before YT they weren't allowing any food in. In addition to the fact there aren't any outlets by the beds, so the patients have no way to charge their phones and be in touch with their family..

The students working on this initiative are part of OU-JLIC’s “Killing COVID with Kindness” global project. They worked with OU-JLIC Torah Educator Rabbi Joe Wolfson, an OU campus educator at New York University. The mission of the project is to facilitate chesed opportunities for college students during this fragile time when so many people are needy. OU-JLIC educators, Margot Botwinick at IDC-Herzliya (Israel) and Shiffy Friedman at Columbia University in Manhattan are also spearheading projects with their students.

“Seeking meaning, community and opportunities to help their brethren, our students in have attempted to make an impact on their community in New York throughout this period of uncertainty and we are extremely proud, not only their impact for these patients, but for all those they are helping,” said OU-JLIC Executive Director Rabbi Ilan Haber.

“These are extraordinary times and our OU-JLIC students and staff are extraordinary people. Perhaps what is most beautiful, is that the students are spending time that otherwise could have been spent in the safety of their homes to work together to help their fellow Jews in need,” said Orthodox Union Executive Vice President Allen Fagin.

“Kol Yisrael Areivim Ze La’Zeh, each and every one of us is responsible for another and in a time of uncertainty, these students and their actions are not only significant on their own but serve as a beacon for hope of the next generation of Jewish leaders helping to take care of our most vulnerable. On Passover we sing ‘Dayenu’ (it would have been enough) and perhaps what is most inspiring is that these students extended themselves even beyond their initial goals,” said Orthodox Union President Moishe Bane.

The Passover initiative was a partnership between OU-JLIC, its students, the Met Council and the New York Board of Rabbis which learned of the numbers and needs just days before the holiday set in.

Why would you think the story is inaccurate with all these quotes from the OU leadership?

Chinese Americans help Jewish organizations obtain protective equipment - Chinese-American groups return a Jewish message of solidarity by providing protective gear to agencies.

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/278779

The end of the article made this particularly appropriate for this thread

Quote
Haipei Shue, the president of United Chinese Americans, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that Chinese-American communities across the United States were scrambling to find PPE to distribute within their towns and cities.

“They know where to get them, where a lot of American organizations don’t know,” Shue said. “We probably have better sources, better connections.”

Making sure that a portion of those went to Jewish groups was an easy call, Shue said. He likened the closeness of the two communities to finding out in wartime who one’s true friends are.

“There are so many times that the Jewish community has shown up for us, this is really nothing,” he said.

My great uncle lives in CH, he was very sick with coronavirus as he said he was more oif yenne velt vi di velt (BH he is doing better). Hatzolah came to check up on him every day, he believes if they would have taken him to the hospital there is no way he would have made it.

Amazing generosity. Open account at the supermarket through the end of the Jewish calendar year for any COVID-19 widow with orphans in BP.

That Eichlers is going to help every new widow with an account in a grocery store. This is not a exact transalation just to give you an idea
