What’s considered “normal”? There will be a long period of time between going back to work and when this thing is finally over.

I've actually been thinking about this a lot over the last 2 weeks. What does my world look like when this is over? How much changes, both in the way the world itself operates and in the way I approach life? Do I rethink some choices I've already made? Where I live, how I live, what I want, what I think I need? Is my career path what I really want to be doing? Does it provide short or long term stability is this new world? Is it even still viable in our new economy? How do I want to interact with my community going forward? How involved do I want to be? Do I respect them more or less for their reaction and response to this crises? What about my friends? Who was there for me and my family? Who took this seriously and who put others at risk? How much do I trust my government to look out for me and protect me the next time a crisis hits? Do I need to find other ways to get informed on what is going on in the world? These, and a million other questions.... I only have partial answers, and even those may change before this is over.

What’s considered “normal”?
In no particular order: shuls, schools, yeshivos, businesses, shopping, chasunos, walking outside are "regular" again
Small people talk about other people.
Average people talk about things
BIG PEOPLE TALK ABOUT IDEAS.

Shame you werent on the Amudim Live tonight. Spoke about this exact topic. Do you remember September 10? Forget about back to normal. Its never going to be whatever normal you remember it to be. Accept the best normal that will materialize out of it.
9/11 gave us the TSA and a general awareness of suspicious activity. Plus many lives lost and trillions spent in Afghanistan/Iraq.

What will Covid19 give us after we defeat it? Or are you not expecting to defeat it?

Awareness about the benefits of vaccines and real medicine.

It won't fix everyone but I think it will help many who were wishy washy.

Don't mock it. Maybe it will be a game changer but then again maybe it won't.  ;)

We will defeat it. It should give us new perspective.

Look at what it has already given us on a communal level.

This is from a list a friend posted on FB.
No need for lavish over the top weddings and simchos.
Endless and unnecessary shopping.
Rethink the need for Pesach Programs.
Rethink the need for over the top fine dining.
Seminary/Yeshiva in Israel.

I for one am looking forward to being able to marry off my kids at a way lower standard than I could have ever dreamed of.

I think it will change the way this country does business with and relies on foreign supply chains. It will awake the country to the dangers of diseases that we were never open to accepting. Almost everyone that I spoke to 3 weeks ago laughed it off. That has changed drastically and will live on in peoples psyche for a long time.
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

Don't understand what the foreign supply chain has to do with anything
