The CDC has has similar text us since before Omicron, and COVID seems to be evolving to evade vaccines faster than the vaccines themselves evolve. The BA.1 bivalent never made it to market and the BA.4/BA.5 bivalent that just hit the market is gonna get blindsided by the scrabble variants that will be dominant in the US sometime this winter.

Your point about the CDC is a fair one, but if that was the Tweeters’ point than he should have said it or he’s as guilty as the CDC as painting with a broad brush and not adjusting the rhetoric/perspective from 12+ months ago.

That isn’t what I said. I believe there are a lot of unintelligent (non-anti-vaxxers) who might believe vaccines prevent infection, but I don’t believe anyone intelligent believes that anymore.

I agree the CDCs text is misleading and seems disingenuous, but that part is nothing new. Yes, both sides are pushing an agenda, but they’re both dumbing down the details. You can call out the CDC without having to resort to that dumbing down.

Same thinking did United's Smisek in.
Ditched JFK-LAX because the route wasn't profitable. Didn't stop to think that by killing that route he would chase away all of United's top LA passengers and flip their entire LAX operated into the red. Instead permanently gave the slots to DL and UA to this day can't course correct, effectively ceding LAX leadership to DL.

You made a narrow comment that was BS. Lots of people are pushing the vaccines prevent infection narrative, not just anti vaxers, including the most powerful infectious disease organization in the country.

You’re pushing a narrative right now. They might be leaving things ambiguous about how much infection it’s preventing, but that’s because it’s a moving target (in the wrong direction) that nobody can scientifically quantify/pinpoint. So instead you’re quoting something they wrote a year ago and never bothered to update and turning it into something it’s not.

They did and are doing a really cr@ppy job at managing COVID, which is a disgrace considering that managing COVID is exactly what they’re in place for. But if they’re saying what you claim they’re saying you better share better proof than what you shared.
