I will match any $10 pledges to these family campaigns, pledged within the next 48 hours (until 1 PM last day of Chol HaMoed), up to $1000 total. Please post here or PM. I can not promise to reply to everyone, but I will donate, bli neder.
I will BL"N do this as well. I will use @Iz 's calculations.
Quotes in a signature is annoying, as it comes across as an independent post.
$10+ to Fendel, Hass, Steinberg, and Cooper, on top of previous donations to some. @aygart @Iz
Donated >$10 each to Fendel, Fettman, Morgan, Steinberg, Weichbrod, Hass, and Berg@Iz @aygart
I need to follow suit or I will be a hypocrite. IYH later today.
These pages break my heart. But how do you ensure transparency? Each page is raising 500k. How do these families and trustees ensure the funds are managed and distributed properly?
Your mitzvah is to give. And on a sidenote by each campaign you can see the people who are in charge
Why doesn't someone make a group victims fund that evenly distributes to approved families? That way contributions will be tax deductible per IRS.
1. It’s a lot of work.2. You need Rabbinic/financial oversight to define equal distribution. Should R”L a widow with teenage child get the same as R”L a widower with 8 children under age 11,?
Can save millions in taxes and encourage more donations. You can easily set up a formula (eg per dependent). Some people may end up getting less than they would have if given directly, but again - more would donate.
It’s also easier to donate once than to donate 10 times. Set it up and and I’ll give you a donation on top of my previous pledge.
