As far as I know, no hospital in NY has refused respirators because they didn't have enough. I believe that for now they have more than they need. It's just that in certain situations the doctors believe that a respirator won't help and will only make worse. And the family members going through such terrible situations think that their family member was "refused" a respirator. I don't know if this is the situation here but it's definitely by others. I have a close friend where the whole street was talking that the hospital refused to give their grandfather a respirator but the truth was like I wrote above.
