Flying to Belgium. my passport expires in 5 months.

is it a problem that its less then 6 months or 3 months is enough for belgium?

I think EU only needs 3 months.
Couldn't find it from an official source though.

Technically speaking only need birth certificate ( if under 18) bring iboth and i wouldn't be too concerned

Anyone have any insight where I can get an appointment for two minors today near Brooklyn? My appointment at Central library was cancelled, the other two libraries are closed, and post offices don't show availability.

The American Citizen Services Unit at U.S. Embassy Jerusalem will be accepting DS-82 passport applications on Thursday, December 30, 2021, without an appointment.

The DS-82 form can be used for all adult passport renewals (passports valid for 10-years, still valid or expired less than five years ago)

My US 10-year passport is expired. Can I just submit a renewal application by mail as in years gone by and wait it out until it gets processed? Or has something been changed in general in recent times?

Subject:  Travel to the United States on Expired U.S. Passports

 

If you are overseas and your U.S. passport expired on or after January 1, 2020, you may be able to use your expired passport to travel directly to the United States until March 31, 2022.

 

You qualify to travel on your expired passport if all the following are true:

    You are a U.S. citizen.
    You are currently abroad seeking direct travel to the United States.
    You are flying directly to the United States, a United States territory, or have only short-term transit (“connecting flights”) through a foreign country on your direct return to the United States or to a United States Territory.
    Your expired passport was originally valid for 10 years.  Or, if you were 15 years of age or younger when the passport was issued, your expired passport was valid for five years.
    Your expired passport is undamaged.
    Your expired passport is unaltered.
    Your expired passport is in your possession.

You do not qualify to travel on your expired passport if:

    You wish to depart from the United States to an international destination.
    You are currently abroad seeking to travel to a foreign country for any length of stay longer than an airport connection en route to the United States or to a United States territory.
    Your expired passport was limited in validity.
    Your expired passport is a special issuance passport (such as a diplomatic, official, service, or no-fee regular passport).

Please be advised that currently, routine passport processing in the United States can take 8-11 weeks.  For an additional $60, domestic applicants can request expedited service.  Domestic applicants also may request 1-2 day delivery of their completed passport for an additional fee. i got a same day passport appointment in manhattan.
in order to get the appointment i had to give them a pnr
if by the time i come to the appointment my pnr is cancelled, but i have a different one, will they accept the new one instead?

Check sent for a passport renewal payment was deposited today. Is it any indication on when I will receive the new passport?

Seems like the 8-11 weeks estimate is thankfully wildly off base.

Applied for a new passport for my 16 year old child (not renewal) in a Post Office in Brooklyn on December 14. Regular processing, not Expedited (though I did opt for Express shipping as I do not trust the regular mail). Received passport on December 31.
