So far timeline with my online passport renewal

04/28: Filled out Google Form
04/29: Received email to open MyTravel account and opened account
05/02: Was able to apply online and applied
06/06: Status updated to received on https://passportstatus.state.gov/
06/15: Passport approved (not yet shipped) on https://passportstatus.state.gov/

I am really wondering if it would be faster to just send it in the mail...

Applied for a new passport for kids on 5/13 at a local facility, they received the application on on 5/20 . We chose expedited service which is officially 5 -7 weeks from the day they receive the application, received the passport on 6/15 . Which is 3.5 weeks from the day they received the application. Though there email update notifications when the status changes on the application is not working.

My son is over 16 but never had a 10 year passport can I renew it online or does it need to be both a 10 year passport and over 16?
