Passport applications and Passport Renewal

2 months in still saying processing
another one after 16 weeks had to get an emergency one

Finally got it with some help possibly from my congressman

Applied for a child 3/10 got the passport yesterday 6/15.

Which state did you apply in?

(This goes for all posters. In the past, outside of NY and TX was much faster. Curious to see how the pattern holds today).

If you are desperate to get a passport in time your local congressperson or senator can assist in getting an appoinment or speeding it up if you have an application in progress
we contacted their office and they opened a case with a case worker and we got the passport in time
had we needed an emergency appt, they can potetially arrange that to
the reason i said possibly, is becuase at the same time we called the passport office ourselves and they claimed it was being done, so i have no idea if the congressman helped at all
Amudim govt office says 50/50

I’ve used my congressman (2 different ones ) 3 times now with success. And a friend a 4th. It depends which one I guess if they are motivated enough to help.
Chestnut Ridge NY if it makes a difference.
Twice help with embassy appt  in Israel, once  to help get my passport faster in USA , once to waive document requirements for renewal ( last one was during Corona , may be exception )

Applied for new passports expedited for 2 of my children and my wife as renewal.

Friday, May 5 appointment at USPS.

Tuesday, May 9 checks cashed.

Received 2 children passports today. My wife's passport shows as shipped yesterday since Friday June 16. Didn't move yet.

All in all expedited took 6 FULL weeks to ship.

so I applied April 15 for newborn. they received April 25,
 I called in June 7 paid $80 to rush,
 BUT I DONT SEE A CHARGE ON MY CARD YET, site says still processing,
 what could that be? travel is the 26th.

Call for an emergency appointment.  Or call your congressman. Tomorrow!

Applied for child first time applicant. Paid for expedite and it took 5 weeks

Same here. Seems like it's about 5 weeks now for expediting. From the day you send in the application.

Same DP here, expedited adult renewal from NJ (Mailed in USPS priority envelope). Took exactly 5 weeks and 1 day from send to receive. (Mailed out 5/12, received 6/17.)

I recently sent in for a renewal but every time i check status it still says not available
have done multiple passports in the past but never had this issue. any ideas?
tracking shows they received and i see the check was deposited

You're best bet may be to call and make an appointment at one of the passport offices and get it same day and pay. $100 for new passport, $35 plus $60 expedited service.

That's for people with travel within 2 weeks.  As proven by a ticket. Even a refundable one.
