Passport applications and Passport Renewal

I’m sure this has been asked before but I couldn’t pull it up,did anyone actually travel to Canada with a passport expiring in less than 3 months without any issues? I know the state department website says valid until expiration date, just want to know if anyone here has actually tried. Thanks

Children renewal in person in NJ April 16th (Sunday). Standard processing and shipping. Marked as received April 20th, arriving tomorrow July 6th.

11 weeks in total. When I applied the range was 10-13 weeks.

First of all there are about 25 weeks left to the year. Second of all this problem is going on for couple of years already, why can't they get their act together and hire more people with all those fees they are collecting?

I recently sent in for a renewal but every time i check status it still says not available
have done multiple passports in the past but never had this issue. any ideas?
tracking shows they received and i see the check was deposited

2 questions -

I am considering going to Israel mid-December, but my passport is expired. If I send it in now, would I get it back in time?

Also, I plan to start a course at a big-name college at the end of August. Would there be any reason they would ask me for my passport? I can't think of any, but I just want to be sure...

The lag time for getting a passport by mail seems to be up to 2 months, since your trip is 4 months away, you should be fine.
Do you have another government ID? Then  you don't need your passport.

Call the passport office for an emergency passport appointment. (Call at their opening time.) Tell them the flight is within 2 weeks.  You'll get an appointment within 2 weeks. Bring proof of a flight within 2 weeks of the appointment.  And get the passport the day of or next day of the appointment.  Fee: regular plus expedited.

It is way more than 2 months. Official processing time estimates are 10 to 13 weeks for routine and 7 to 9 weeks for Expedited. And that is excluding the time it takes to reach them and the time after they mail it out. For a routine application you should expect 3.5-4 months.

Agreed. Just entered the 12th week, and I'm still waiting for my daughter's passport to come.
