Do you for sure need a US passport that is valid for at least 6 Months from the return date if i am traveling to Israel? My Passport expires 3 and a half months after i am scheduled to return from Israel.

This was not expedited. Waiting for the birth certificates to be returned.

I'll be entering my 15th week this week, still waiting for my daughter's passport. BH no planned travel yet, but I believe that every person in my house should have a passport. When this thing is finally processed, I sure hope they give me a later expiration date to match how long it's taking!

The expiration goes after the day it is processed and approved so you will be getting a later expiration date.

My son’s expedited renewal- really a new passport because last one was a child this one is adult - is on week 10 with no passport in sight and scheduled travel on Monday. Anyone have any suggestions ? Contacted Bob Menendez office last night but had my hopes that would show up Friday or shabbos so probably too late. I called passport agency 5 times but once it’s processing there’s nothing they can really do other than email the office it’s in (NH).

Don’t be fooled by the 5 minute hold times today (on a Sunday!) their system is down and they can’t check or change anything. Government bureaucracy at its finest!

So i am Flying United to TLV and LY returning to JFK. Really unsure if i want to get a new passport now as i will have close to 4 months remaining. Once in TLV is there an issue at Customs there or the only when still in the US?

The way I understood it, both Israel and the USA allow it.  Airlines, at their discretion. When I called United, they said if the country allows, they do too.  And indeed there was no issue.

Cleint had passport in progress for 10 weeks (standard service). Called to expedite and had it in hand less then a week later

This was for my wife’s passport. While I have not yet confirmed this to be the case for us, my wife was just talking to someone that had their photo denied due to wearing a fall sheitel with a band. They do allow it for religious purposes but you need to send them a letter saying that.

Just a PSA to be super careful with the picture. They won’t tell you this until you push them…

What ended up happening?

All these passport people wanted 650-900$ and a lot of I hope involved.
I contacted my senator most have passport help emails. 24 hours after contacting them application status online went from processing to approved. I’m hoping it will be here today or tomorrow
