Passport applications and Passport Renewal

I sent my passport by mail for renewal. It was received 8/8/23. Id like to go to israel for sukkos. Is there anything that can be done to expedite at this point? My physical passport is no longer by me.

Children renewal in person in NJ April 16th (Sunday). Standard processing and shipping. Marked as received April 20th, arriving tomorrow July 6th.

11 weeks in total. When I applied the range was 10-13 weeks.

The old, expired passports just came today, 17 weeks later, and 7 weeks after the new passports arrived.

Applied for an adult renewal expedited ($209.53).

Friday, Aug 5 mailed at USPS with tracking.
Tuesday, Aug 8 checks cashed/processed.
Tuesday, August 22 emailed Senator Schumer (you need to print a form and wet sign and email it to his office) no response
Thursday, August 24 called for an appointment as travel is within 14 days. Was told only 5 days out can get app but they will send a notification to the agency to process
Friday, August 25 emailed my congresswoman, no reply.

Monday, August 28 shipped UPS Next Day Air
Tuesday, August 29 10 AM got passport (including old passport)

All in all, expedited took 3.5 weeks to receive.

Not sure which or any of the action we took helped, but BH TYH

Update: I called the Passport #, explained that I wanted to go to Israel within a few weeks. They charged me $60 to expedite, $20 for quick shipping  back to me. Did not promise anything but said they would attempt to rush it. One day letter (today) I got a notification that I have a UPS package arriving tomorrow from Passport. BH. Hope this helps someone

IT was received by them 8/8. Not sure when I sent it in, probably like 10 days prior.

Subject: Special Passport Application Event For Those With Urgent Travel – Tuesday, September 5, 2023

What: The American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem will hold an after-hours passport acceptance event for emergency passports.  These passports will be limited to one year and are intended for those with upcoming travel in less than two months.  No applications for full-validity passports will be accepted.  If you do not have travel within the next two months, we ask you to please not make an appointment for this event.

Where: U.S. Embassy Jerusalem, 14 David Flusser Street, Arnona, Jerusalem   

When: Tuesday, September 5 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm by appointment only.  The appointments will be released on Sunday, September 3 between 3-4pm on the scheduling website: https://cacms.state.gov/s/new-appointment.  If you log on to the official website at that time and do not see any available appointments, it means we are fully booked.   

Please come prepared with all of the required documents, fees, and photos.  Those without all the correct application materials will be turned away and asked to reschedule:  https://il.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/how-passport/.

You can wait another couple of months, but I suggest getting it done at least 4 months before you need so you don't have to stress about it coming in time. Summer is busy season, so wait times will likely go down after the summer, but I wouldn't rely on that.

Thought there was maybe something about 6 months but i didn't think that was a real thing
