Passport applications and Passport Renewal

Received baby passport today applied November 12

Renewal non expedited: Mailed 12/26. Delivered to agency 12/29. Started processing 01/02. Issued 01/09. Received 01/12.

Any idea if the online renewal is happening? Or shall I just renew via mail at this point? Anyone heard any updates?  Or rumors?

The fact is, they have had years to devise an appointment system that cannot be gamed by brokers, and have utterly failed...
Some possible suggestions -
CRBA's that are tied to the parents passport/ss number, and can be booked before birth.
Automaticly give the option for "emergency" passports for crba's - i.e. printed in israel but not same day service.
A electronic waiting room for appointments - get in an eline after providing passport #, and when appointments open up, the next 50 people in line can choose an appointment - or give up place in line - no more "fastest fingers game" on wendsdays to grab appointments
Remove the ability for brokers to change the details on an appointment - i.e. canceled appointment slots get released at the next schedualed release time (wednsdays), and not immediately when canceled.
Create seperate lines for 1) crba/passports needed for Bituach Leumi 2) crba/passports needed for immediate travel - possibly by reduced 3 month validity - not valid for BL 3) True emergency travel - medical/berevement - no crba, passport valid for one flight/entrance to the US only.
You can only get an appointment AFTER you submit all the needed documents digitaly.
Canceled appointments get offered to the next in line, not up for grabs...

seems many of these suggestions are now reaiity with the new booking system...
plus walkin emergency apointments everyday before 8:30am

Assuming he tried on more than one computer or phone, or asked p2 to try. But yes that's always the first thing to try.  Cache and cookies.

Another possibility to throw in the mix. By me it only works on the Chrome browser, not on Firefox.

Expedited now says 2-3 weeks so should be enough.

I applied for a passport for my baby at the post office. Not expedited. It took 16 days to arrive.

  It depends on the season. Holiday time (and the weeks leading up to) it can take 6 weeks or more.

Where do you get such information from? If you’ve been following the US passport situation for the past 3 years it doesn’t seem possible to say that based on facts. Backed up all the time and now it changed. Thanks to all that keep providing dps on this. There is a big change with US passports. Don’t say things that get people nervous and hectic for no reason please.
