Renewed 2 of my kids Passport at Kings Highway Library in Brooklyn on October 8th.
Did not pay for expedited shipping.
Received both on October 31st

Any recent experience at Jackson PO, would I be better off at the Lakewood County Resource Center?

Also when applying for a child's passport do you need to bring a copy of their birth certificate in addition to the original, same for parent's Id's? If so do they need to be color copies?

Do they take the birth certificate and send it in with the application?

At County Connection - (I assume Resource center would be the same) you do not need to bring copies they do it for you.

Applied in person on 12/31 for a newborn passport. Received today. Regular delivery.

12 days from renewing online till delivered!

Perhaps there's a window of a few days that it can work, but they do invalidate the old passport when they process the new one. (I've actually tried using my old passport that still had 8 months to expiration, when entering Switzerland within a week of receiving my new passport, it came up as lost/stolen in their system and they confiscated it)

I live in Israel. Need to renew the US passport. I understand you need to have a US address to do the online renewal.  Do you know if you actually need to be able to prove that you live at that US address? Or it's ok to use a parent/friend's US address? 

Also, I assume the passport gets mailed to that US address you indicate?
