UPDATE:
got 4/5 today while the status page only says approved and they will be printing and preparing to send
should note that the 4 i got were all new for kids and the one we are still waiting for is a renewal for an adult
all were sent on 11/23
also did not receive any documents back yet

If someone wants to travel in the near future but needs to send out their active passport with the application for a new one, what do they do?

I have an appointment today but I realized I only have business checks, no personal. They specify personal checks. But will business work as well? Or I need to go get a money order?

I believe that's only the usps fee, for state department need a check. I also wouldn't try a business check, is hard enough to get passport now don't need another delay.

Is the appointment at the post office or at the regional agency?

sorry i assumed this was at the passport agency. for a rush passport.

Personal check means you do not need a bank check.

If they are not okay with the check you can always buy a money order at the post office.

I would just cross out the business name and write the name of applicant or parent.

i actually realized that I have blank check paper at home. so I just printed personal checks.
