At the 5 week mark the expedited (5-7 week processing) option becomes free. I added it to my order on Wednesday, and my passport shipped today!

Is it 5 weeks from when I signed up (at the Brooklyn Library) or 5 weeks from the day the us department of state says they received it (which was almost a week later)?
Also which number to I call to change to expedite?

hashgacha pratis. Passport agency called a few minutes ago. They said I have the wrong social (which I confirmed that I did actually transpose a number) and asked me to email a copy of the card. They called back moments later to confirm that the passport was issued a d I should be receiving Friday or Shabbos.

I just got a response now (after my last post) from the email address I emailed (PPTOPR@state.gov) as follows:
Keep in mind this is a dedicated email for OPR (Online Passport Renewal), unless you renewed online it wouldn’t be relevant to you. Hopefully this means I’ll have my passport soon Bez”H.

ETA: my online status now shows “printed”.

Passport arrived 7/7, 2 weeks and 2 days after applying online (paid expedite fees (which you pay anyway at the agency), overnight shipping, and emailed them to say I’m traveling sooner than expected (no proof requested or provided).

Thanks for the welcome, @AsherO. Yeah, so some Satmar dude I spoke to on the phone said he could get me an appointment for $400. All he does is give you a time slot. He provides no other service. He says I will receive the passport in hand the day of the appointment. I'd gladly pay extra to avoid having to go in to the passport office. Only requirement is that I must have the passport within 3 weeks.

So, question: 1) Do I really need this guy's "service" or can I get an appointment myself by calling at 7:58 AM? 2) Is there someone who provides the entire service from soup to nuts?

If one is making a refundable ticket to get a passport expidited. Does the ticket need to be active or can I cancel it right away.

I don't know about the passport agency but my senators office definitely checked to verify that I have an active reservation. For what that's worth ....

No- it was available online as an add-on to my order.

Really? Was this an adult online renewal?

I called yesterday for a child's initial passport (it's after 6 weeks) and they told me there is no such thing as upgrading to expedite for free. There is no option on the Passport Status website to expedite it.

Looking for advice- I did online renewal for my wife's US passport as described in the group on June 6. When I look online it still says pending. I did regular, not expedited . This has been 9 weeks already. Should I wait longer or call them? Will calling them help or not? Thanks.

Had in person appointment for newborn passport on 5/29. Status showed as received 6/3. Status updated to approved on 7/15. Received 7/18 (don't believe the status changed to printed then shipped yet).

No expedite at all. Applied in NJ.

Got a new passport & the photo is light & blurry. Is this a new tech/security feature or is it a mistake ?
