I very clearly didn’t accuse you of having a narrative in my first post but as soon as there was a drop of dialogue you resorted to basically telling me to shut up.

It’s beautiful that you care so much to make sure that everybody should be careful but don’t lower yourself to this bickering tone every other post.
So it all started when I answered back? :o

Were these really older “children” (I.e. teenagers)?

Yes, they were teenagers, 13 to 18 year old, according to all the articles.

This is not only directed at you as I’ve been seeing this tons from many others as well & maybe it belongs in a more general thread but -

Why does everything somebody says become a narrative?? The world at large has become so polarized, & once you have an opinion you need to stay with it 1000 percent, & must agree with all the opinions of that same side, can we at least try to keep things somewhat normal here so that somebody could say an opinion without it being a narrative?? I’ve had many things I’ve wanted to say about corona both ways but I’ve kept my mouth shut because it’s not worth getting into an argument over every word you said & what they decided you may have meant or didn’t mean or meant yesterday or said the week before. Everybody’s gotta take it easy.

This is very well said. Thank you.

Plus kids are by far not as likely to die.

Are there any links to where I can read those reports? I'd also be interested in seeing studies being done on this but most likely the results wouldn't be available for quite some time especially for long term damage or side effects.

They're posted in a number of different threads. Start with the thread on Long Term Effects of COVID-19 (https://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=115812.0), but I think there's more elsewhere.
Failing at maintaining Lurker status.

Not that I mind if it gets it's own thread, however it's being discussed as it pertains to sleepaway camp due to a camp being closed because of an outbreak (in kids ages 13 to 18). So I don't see why it can't just stay here.

I will take every opportunity I find to drive home the point that every precaution taken is worthwhile and nobody should be mocked for being smart and proactive. You can call it a narrative if you’d like, just as in the past you’ve accused me of spreading false hysteria for publicizing a DP I heard directly from a doctor.

Nobody is encouraging anybody to live in fear. But I think some of the recklessness preached here needs to be called out each and every time.
You really missed the boat.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but this is why most of our conversations end with a snarky reply from you.

I agree. I'm all for having open and respectful conversations, discussions, and even arguments. But the key is respect. Snarkiness has no place here (or anywhere).

Thanks, do you have an address or the name of the campground that they took over? And do you know if outsiders are permitted to participate in their minyanim?

Do you mean a snarky reply like this?
You really missed the boat.
I’d actually attribute that to you falsely accusing me of being misleading or you making up positions of mine and then backing away when called out for it, most of the time.

In truth, the reason is simple. You and the OP both have a narrative that you like running with, which involves bashing people who post facts as fear mongers and mocking anyone who is prudent and cautious as living in fear. Questioning the efficacy of masks while claiming they are dangerous, pretending that the lockdown really killed more people than COVID which was actually just doctors, etc. When someone posts facts that contradict that narrative, you resort to calling it a narrative and willfully ignoring them. But should chas vesholom someone be seen as questioning your narrative, you’ll lash out, facts be darned.

The reason I answer is not to get you ch’v, or to win an argument. Most of our arguments have been won before we debate. The reason is so that the thousand of silent others who view our discussions should be able to sort through and see which are facts and which are opinions.

It feels good to pretend you have the high ground, right? I’m done.
I agree. I'm all for having open and respectful conversations, discussions, and even arguments. But the key is respect. Snarkiness has no place here (or anywhere).

No, the one it was in response to as well as many other, like most of your responses to me.

DDF discussions are severely COVID infected, I hope it won't become the new normal and peace will be restored.

No need to post this everywhere, perfectly happy with a mazal tov thread and not a fundraiser :)
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

And my marketing team promised that if we include both Dan and JJ, none will speak up, because they will each want to get maximum coverage for their brother.

I'm going to start firing people.
