I know someone who needed to get emergency surgery for cancer, and after 2 days in the NY hospital came down with a cough. They should have cancelled all emergency surgeries.
Not to light a fire under those who believe all COVID deaths were really murderous doctors and nurses (!?), but in fact it is estimated that accidental deaths in hospitals due to errors or otherwise is the 3rd leading cause of death in the US.

Amos Tversky used to say that going to a doctor from the 17th century until the 19th century was a losing proposition, as it greatly increased your likelihood of dying. In the 19th century, it became a break even proposition. I think we can agree that at this point it’s a net positive but indeed too many die due to human error or avoidable disease transmission.

This Shabbos was the first one for my son back home after the summer. I asked him to share with us what he like best about camp. His response was that the best part about it was that it wasn't camp, it was yeshiva.

Our kids were craving proper structure that was deprived of them.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Wow.
How can anyone deny this?

Are you referring to boys being sent home from summer camp, or to boys being sent home from the new school year? And if from school, is this beis medrash, high school, or elementary?

Please tell me that number is guzma. Did they really have 20 kids test positive after school had already started?

Hard to believe. Brooklyn schools aren't requiring testing, and very few are doing it. Plus he posted in the sleepaway camp thread. But it's also strange to be posting now about something that happened 8 weeks ago (nor did I hear about TT camp sending everyone home). Hence my post seeking clarification.

There's a camp in the Poconos that currently has a Covid outbreak.

Also, there's speculation that this is Covid:
