I received all checks, had a baby in June of 20, just filed for 20 and got the $1400 for baby , what about the 2 other checks don’t I qualify for her?
They should be part of your tax return.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

They should be part of your tax return.
If you have a breakdown of tax credits, look for a line that says $1,100
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

They have been conducting sweeps for this every couple of weeks since the first checks of this stimulus were issued...
They've been issuing payments each week so far.
Here's the latest report: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/more-than-18-million-additional-economic-impact-payments-disbursed-under-the-american-rescue-plan-total-payments-reach-nearly-167-million

It seems to be some kind of glitch/error in the IRS system for the EIP1 and EIP2 for children born in 2020.
There are a lot of people (including myself) who are getting their returns adjusted/reduced by $1100 and a separate deposit of $1400 for EIP3.

I called and got the missing $1100 about two weeks after the refund and EIP3 deposits.
If it benefits even just one fellow DDFer, its worth posting it.

I have a client who qualified for full EIP2 and EIP3 based on his 2019 income. The checks were sent but never reached him and were returned to the IRS. I filed Form 3911 to request that the checks be reissued. The IRS responded saying that the EIP2 check was in fact returned but since his 2020 income was above the limit (it was) he does not qualify. Similar response for EIP3-2021 income.

Is the IRS acting in accordance with the law? I feel like they are in the wrong here. Any insight or references would be appreciated.

I belive they are correct.   Those two were "advances" to 2020.  Even anyone that got it that wasn't eligible it got calculated off their tax return

EIP2 was an advance for 2020 and EIP3 was an advance for 2021. According to the law, if a taxpayer was ineligible based on the income on the relevant tax return, there was absolutely no requirement to repay the excess nor a reduction of any refund.

Even if that’s true retroactively for someone who got and cashed a check, doesn’t mean someone who wasn’t eligible and had a check returned would get it reissued.
