This is ridiculous. Can't you use your head for one minute? Forget about what other people told you or what the government says. Does it not make sense that if there is less contact between people, there will be less spreading?

Wow, that was disgusting.

From a Jew: shuls are not essential. Keep them closed.
I happen not to agree - but Shul’s were deemed essential in Florida

Since when does the Torah advocate making up your own svaros about life and death?
It doesn’t. I am talking about the many rabbanim that say minyan in a proper social distance is ok!

You are not in ny. Almost everyone I know has had this disease in one way shape or form, from many different types of neighborhoods. THere is NO way to stop the spread of this disease, period.  Look up what the doctors that instituted this have said. It is ONLY to slow the curve. Davening in a minyan is not the cause of people getting it. If everyone was welded into their houses for many months maybe it would stop the spread ( not happening). So don’t blame 11 people on their porches for doing any harm to anyone. Especially if they spoke it out with their rabbanim.
You yourself say it is to slow the curve. Even if it does not stop it, it can slow things down enough that when someone does get it C"V, there will be a bed and a ventilator available for them.

Why does everyone keep parroting what this governor or that politician said about shuls? Who cares if they say it can stay open? The vast majority of Rabbonim paskened that they should be closed. Why isn't that enough for you?

Do you really think a group of people standing together for an hour or two hours or more will never come close to each other?
And once you start with that....who knows what it will lead to. It is very risky business.

As Rabbi Dr Glatt said : I never saw anyone look for a way to blow shofar on R"H that fell on shabbos. Why are people looking for a way to be more frum than our gedolim?

Because someone is busy trying to tie this to the anti Semitic trope that Jews don't follow the law based on the falsehood that it would be illegal.

Obviously not. The vast majority of Rabbonim not in BP andnot in Williamsburg and Not in KY and and and...you get my point. There is no majority unfortunately. Its every man for himself in this and personal kavod and negias plays a big time role in it. If the shul down the street is open how can I not have at least a socially distanced minyan.
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

The place I know of, everyone is Oleh from where they are standing, so if your at seat #45 you stay there and say the bracha from there.
that's actually not ok if you can't read from the torah. and what about hagbah? does the chazan take out the torah himself with gloves and leave it on the bima while the bal korei stands back 6 feet?

Did I just read "ONLY" slow the curve as some sort of justification when slowing the curve means, you know, FEWER DEAD BODIES

Ah the everyone had it excuse. I have yet to see exactly 11 people on porches. One of my backyard neighbors on the other street was unaware that other people were joining in his minyan until I made him aware of the still contagious people that were participating in his minyan.
One million percent everyone agrees if someone has it, they cannot participate in anything.  And you are completely not understanding what I am saying.

How can you be sure that none of the participants have it?
