Its shocking but keep in mind that there are plenty of stores that are open. I don't know about you (considering how often you travel) but there are people that would never miss a minyan for anything, kal vchomer for pleasure. How is a shul less important than a store?

I think an obvious answer is that in a time of danger one can pray at home. (One can even daven shachris at netz, which I think is better than  minyan btzibur. If the minyanim referenced above truly care, why not do that? Obviously it wont help for Mincha and Maariv.)

On the other hand, food and medicines must remain available. The fact that you see people not taking it seriously enough is nobody's fault but their own. Rabbonim and Doctors have been very clear that one must be very cautious when going out for essentials.

If we can avoid stores OOT for 4 weeks before Pesach, you probably can too.  But comparing shuls to stores that sell food and drugs is naarishkeit, no matter how important shul is.

And like it was said above, if you feel the need to make a minyan against your Rov, that proves your entire history of shul-going was never anything but a farce.

Obviously not. The vast majority of Rabbonim not in BP andnot in Williamsburg and Not in KY and and and...you get my point. There is no majority unfortunately. Its every man for himself in this and personal kavod and negias plays a big time role in it. If the shul down the street is open how can I not have at least a socially distanced minyan.

I think I need a support group. I get so much anxiety that such stupidity exists, but I keep reading these shul threads like I'm going to find some good info or maybe fix some of the stupid. It's like a deeply destructive cycle. And then I dream of hamsters and bleach and minyanim of people who don't know they're dead yet.

For someone who never misses a minyan this is a truly troubling situation. Someone who misses minyanim for non essential travel will obviously not show up now, thus they aren't a proof of anything.

But if the guy who makes a minyan in these times can't get up for netz byichidus it proves he isn't either legit.

You're just proving @Dans point. That the reason they're doing it is because they are worshipping themselves and their "winning streaks", not Hashem.
