So to discuss a different angle related to the c**p tornado that is this thread...

I agree with your decision. But by the same token, don't make a bracha on food which was bought by someone going to a store in an unsafe manner.

There was a certain person who felt based on a rambam that he was allowed to blow shofar on Rosh hashana that fell out on shabbos if he was standing near the makom hamikdash. The Gedolim said he was completely in the wrong and assur to do. The also said if he is going to do it, you might as well hear it

Somehow I fell that this thread is a continuation of the minyan thread that was just locked.

The headlines podcast had a discussion about this, one of the rabbonim brought a tshuva about someone that blew shofar even though it was סכנת נפשות for him to do so due to a heart condition, that they had to hear the shofar again as he wasn’t allowed to blow.
