We call that a mistake. Chicago residents aren't familiar with those.  One that he actually owned and stopped accepting credit cards.  You can have many complaints against the man. That is not one of them. He also borrowed heavily to invest in real estate, a practice which he now speaks out against.

What Chicago residents are familiar with is snake oil salesman. He is one the best. He stopped taking CC's after he was hammered left and right for being a hypocrite.

One has to treat CC like a machete, its a dangerous tool that  if utilized properly can do good things.

Credit cards are a predatory lending product. That doesn't mean that everyone who uses them will fall prey. It's a product that gives consumers access to instant funds at extremely high interest rates, and then provides consumers incentives to use them - especially to use them heavily early on.

Look at a bank like capital one. Consumer credit cards are their bread and butter.

for accurate info, I always rely on the opposition for the most up-to-date and accurate information. Whenever I need to know why a specific liberal is problematic, I rely on Fox. For convervatives, I generally rely on MSNBC. You honestly expect to get accurate info from creditboards about someone who rails against credit all day??? Someone's been drinking the Kool aid.

how can he get someone with $0 dollars to their name into the class without accepting CC? sometimes you have to dig a bit of a deeper hole to find the tunnel
