Considering we will all be getting our checks soon, I wanted to know what my fellow DDFers will be doing with it. Some people are still working, or still have enough money coming in from various sources and this might be an extra windfall to them. What are you planning on doing with it?

I am able to do my work via zoom, so for now I am still getting paid. Will be putting towards savings for a rainy day.

There is no such thing as "an extra windfall". This is what was proscribed for you on Rosh Hashanah. You may need it for something. Why rush to do anything with it?

I just realized the government should have given people an incentive (c% bonus) to invest the $$ for 180 days or so. Would pour money into the markets and some of it would stay after the 180 days...

Would be a win win, Trump gets the strong markets, and people who invest get a bonus and hopefully good ROI.

I guess it depends who. If the incentive to invest it was big enough (e.g. 40% bonus) and simple enough, then some people would forgo paying bills and invest it anyway. Not sure how that would affect the economy.

This check only covers a few weeks of my living expenses and won’t really move the needle as far as my ability or inability to otherwise fulfill my financial obligations. Imagine I’m not the only one.
