When reporting a new offer please post here http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=49544.0

To take advantage of an Amex offer, first save the offer to your card, then do the spending. There are a few ways to save offers to your card; http://www.amexoffers.com/ has links to most of them. Depending on the offer and depending on your Amex card, it may be available via none, one or more than one of these methods:

americanexpress.com web site
Log into the americanexpress.com web site. If you get the new version of the site, scroll down to Amex Offers & Benefits at the bottom of the page. If you get the old version, click the Amex Offers For You tab. You can also see on this web site which offers you already saved (even if you saved them via a method other than this web site) and which offers you already redeemed. This method is only available for Amex credit and charge cards issued by American Express.
The maximum number of offer that the site will show you is 100. If you already have 100 available offers, there may be other offers that they are prepared to show you, but are not showing you because you already have the maximum. To see additional offers, save one or more of your available offers and then refresh the list (F5 in most Windows browsers).

Saving an offer on AmericanExpress.com to one of your cards will automatically make it unavailable for the rest of your cards linked to the same login. The way to get around this is by opening all of your cards in separate tabs and then saving the offer in each.  **

**Sign into different tabs?!?
Sign onto your Amex account. card #1 is on the page.  scroll to offers. note a good one.
Open  tab 2: amex.com (or with Chrome, right click on the first tab and choose Duplicate) > you are already logged in.> go to my accounts > click on card #2  on the top of the page. scroll to offers. check for same good offer.
Open tab #3. repeat as for tab #2. Repeat as necessary.
THEN: on tab #1 - click 'save' .  Then on tab #2 click 'save' . Then on each tab.
If you so desire: check on each card's 'saved offers' to check that it's there.

This link should take you to the Amex old layout,
which is much easier to scroll down through all the offers.

Amex® Mobile app
This method is only available for Amex credit and charge cards issued by American Express. The login is the same as for the americanexpress.com web site.

Dedicated web site for enrollment
Some Amex offers, most notably Small Business Saturday, but also NYC Restaurant Week, Home Depot, Amazon and DirecTV, offer a dedicated web site where you could enter your card information to enroll.

For Bluebird/Serve cards
Amex offers can be saved via the bluebird.com web site. Go to Plan & Manage > Amex Offers. Amex offers can also be saved via the Bluebird mobile app.

For cards not issued by American Express (such as Amex cards issued by Citi, USAA, PenFed, Bank of America, etc.)
Add offers to your card at this site: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/network/shopping.html
You will be prompted for your name, card number and email address.

Anyone want to check my math?

So 3 x 500 means making 3 transactions and getting $1,500 for $1,520.85=$1,270.85, so you're buying $1,500 at 84.7%

6 x 200 means making 1 transaction and getting $1,200 for $1,241.70=$993.36 at 82.8%, so you're buying $1,200 at 82.8%. You can add a $8.30 WM gift card and pay $6.64.

Or you can get 24 x 200 making 1 transaction split over 4 cards and getting $4,800 for $4,966.80=$3,973.44 at 82.8%, so you're buying $4,800 at 82.8%. You can add a $33.20 WM gift card and pay $26.56.

For me the cleaner/easier root is to buy SC GCs and sell them - they're selling for 90.5% on cardpool (assuming that they view SC the same as Walmart)
Showing $442.50 for $500 (88.5%) for a SC GC.

Cardpool is $452.50 for Walmart - do they sell Walmart GCs? Kind of ridiculous that they have a different value for SC and walmart...

Got this convenient website from DOCs post: https://www.giftcardwiki.com/gift-cards/Walmart

I understand that going the VGC root is more profitable but then I would have to deal with the headache of liquidating them...

Or you can buy the last VGC at 235.18 and that should put you at 80.96% if you're intent is to maximize the offer for each dollar (1235.18/1000).

I think it's a mistake to compare the $200 and $500 the way you're doing it because the fee on the $200 card is roughly 2.6% (after 20% off) of the value of the card. The fee for the $500 is about .8% (after the 20% off).

But then there is a time issue. The $500 giftcards will likely take you 6 times as long or more because you need to do each transaction separately it seems.

31 x 200 making 1 transaction split over 5 cards and getting $6,200 for $6,415.45=$5,165.45, so you're buying $6,200 at 83.3%.
Or
30 x 200 making 1 transaction split over 5 cards and getting $6,000 for $6,208.50=$4,966.80, so you're buying $6,000 at 82.78%. You can add a $33.20 WM gift card and pay $26.56. You can add a $41.50 WM gift card and pay $33.20.

5 x 500 means making 5 transactions and getting $2,500 for $2,524.70=$2,024.70, so you're buying $2,500 at 80.99%.
Pretty good.

on the flip side. it takes more time to unload $200 gc x 10 vs $500 GC x 4
