Only men are dressed in a talis - not women.
unmarried - not so many died of covid, B"H
unaffiliated - I used "don't have their own".


I once was in touch with a chesed shel emes group before Pesach. I suggested that  they put out the word to send the taleisim to them instead of to shamos. I was told they generally had enough.  I guess the current volume, nebach, outpaced their supply.

Just saw this on a group:

Due to the current pandemic and the increased number of Jewish people who have passed away in recent weeks, The Chevra Kadisha of Queens and Long Island and The Hebrew Free Burial are in desperate need of taleisim for burials.

If you, or anyone you know has an old or unused Tallis that you can to donate for this incredible mitzvah of honoring the deceased, please do so as soon as possible.

There are three ways you can donate it:

1) Drop off at 136-06 71st Road in Kew Garden Hills by placing in the labeled plastic bin on the front porch (this way there is no need for any physical proximity)

2) Mail it to:
Mount Richmond Cemetery
420 Clarke Avenue
Staten Island, NY 10306

3) For those that live on the south shore of Long Island, There is a drop off at 809 Ibsen Street in Woodmere.
