Bonvoy(ed) 100k bonus for Gold Elite - worth it?

I've gotten a few emails from them re: upgrading an account to Gold Elite. Costs $450/yr, has 100k bonus for a $5k spend and has says "Plus, you’ll receive complimentary Marriott Bonvoy™ Gold Elite status, including 25% more points, Enhanced Room Upgrades and more."

I'm still a relative newbie and don't understand what Gold Elite would do. Any idea if this is worthwhile?

Thats a credit card offer. Gold isnt worth anything IMO

you should just know if you spend 75k you get upgraded to platinum and that’s not worth less, also refer to “spg luxury” thread for detailed info
