Are there no Jewish schools in Brooklyn doing free lunch?
Most large to mid-sized Chassidish schools are providing breakfast and lunch daily. Things like bread, spreads, cereal, and milk (one in particular started out with gefilte fish, blintzes, etc but I can imagine the feedback they got. They quickly changed to basics).
The one I know best has prepackaged boxes ready. Each box is meant for 4 kids, so if you're picking up for 6-8 kids you get 2 boxes. Since bread and cereal are packaged as is, you end up getting a lot more food than 4 kids could possibly eat.
When you first get in line you provide your phone number, which is preprogrammed in their system with how many kids you can pick up for. You receive a receipt which you present when you reach the pickup station, and based on that you get a box or two (or three).
