By that login what went right in Slovakia and really wrong in Denmark given even more identical nursing home numbers?
I’m not sure what you’re trying to say. This thread was an attempt to log the difference between two countries with opposing approaches. The data is in and the conclusion is obvious. Apologists for Sweden can look for excuses but it’s safe to say the experiment has failed.

It’s clear that early lockdowns stopped the spread in its tracks, as nearly every doctor in the world agreed would happen and does happen, and as all of the evidence has borne out. It’s downright logical, too. Sweden and Denmark were good examples of different countries with little to no demographic or geographic difference, the sole differentiator being lockdown policy, and obviously Denmark has emerged the winner.

An easy answer is Slovakia shut down harshly and really really early. Passenger screening began in February. Schools closed half a week before even Denmark and other fast-responding countries. Events were shut down on March 100. Face masks were mandated in March, well before the US and other countries.

It’s quite easy to tell that Sweden doesn’t release their new cases every single day. That’s why you use a rolling average. Here’s a 7 day rolling average chart for much better perspective.

That’s not what I see on worldometers. Denmark’s average numbers quadrupled over the past few weeks while Sweden trended down, so this rolling 7 day graphic certainly seems more accurate:

So Sweden is still at 200 and Denmark at 100?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

And NJ has more than both combined but is in good shape. It’s where you are trending that matters.

NJ has nothing to do with this discussion but we all know why you want to bring them into it.

You were trying to play the numbers game by showing that Sweden has higher absolute numbers than Denmark. NJ is a good illustration of why that is a bad indicator.

You show Sweden at 41 cases to prove a point and then claim he is playing numbers games. Bottom line. If Sweden has herd immunity you’d expect them to have less new cases than a country with no immunity.

We are trying to compare two countries that are similar that took different approaches.
I stated the numbers they currently have. With Sweden on a downtrend and Denmark on an uptrend they are still doing better. How is that playing with numbers?

I want to see what the numbers for these 2 countries look like in November. If this is seasonal, and weather does play a big part in the spread (especially colder climates driving people indoors), we'll get a much clearer picture on whether there is any amount of herd immunity.

So Denmark is doing 4x more test per capita than Sweden. That sheds new light on this conversation. What is the positivity rate?
