You can't.

That doesn't mean the next best alternative is sufficient, reliable, useful, or meaningful.

Itís either a scientifically viable way (perhaps the best viable way) to study something, or it isnít. You bringing the irrelevant gold standard here seems strawman-like.

It's Scientifically viable - seemingly not (for reason stated above)
It's the best among alternatives - perhaps yes, perhaps not. I don't know.
The peripheral reference to the gold standard was a non-essential observation - I agree

Iíll take the scientists word over your skepticism any day. Keep being a skeptic though, some people will fall for it.

We have seen reports of the virus residing in testicles. What kind of effects can that have on future fertility and future birth defects?

Agreed; though the linked page doesn't mention this part https://www.lrbcol.org/screening

I don't think so. The link has 5 clips, one about a person with diabetes for many years, another with high blood pressure, and etc. Seems like many men have become complacent about visiting a doctor for a check up and this event is meant to weed out all the low hanging fruit with easily detectable high-risk issues.

What is included in such a screening?
