For the record - I also spoke with one of the rabanim on the above Letter and he mentioned that they are following the psak of R Asher weiss (posted earlier).
There are other poskim that do hold the renters should pay more (either 70% or 100%) for various reasons - including the fact that it is possible to enter Israel and go under these hotel quarantines.

These guidelines are mainly for his kehila I’m Remat Eshkol, where many contracts have them listed as the Rav to go to when there is a dispute.
This was not meant as a psak for all.

Obviously AY(l)O Choshen pishpat Rabbi.

The mir just sent out an email that stated that they cannot provide a specific letter needed to get permission from the consulate, as they have not opened the physical buildings, and that is currently a "non-negotiable" requirement to get permission to enter. i was told that the mir told the british talmidim that there is nothing to talk about before shevous.

I dont understand the Ramat Eshkol psak at all.
I am an American Avrech currently living and renting in EY. After Purim when other Avreichim were leaving to the US and Europe, I wished them all "A Gmar Chasima Tova". Every single one of them understood what I was saying... i.e. that they probobly will not be able to get back in to the country after Pesach.
Everyone who didn't leave can continue using their appartment.
Why should the owners lose because their renter made a stupid/self-centered/whatever-you-want-to-call-it decision? The renter left knowing that he will not be able to get back in!!!
---edit: I understand why people left. Its just unreasonable to use their reasons to get out of fulfilling your contract---
There is no makas medina on the use of the appartment. there is no makas medina on the borders being closed because it was forseeable that they would be closed and you left anyway!!!
Maakos Medina is something that is unforseeable and there is nothing you can do to prevent the loss. Look the Gemaras up. Baba Metzia 103b - 106b.

Obviously people who left before Purim is a different shaila completely.

i heard from a friend they send out a call in israel that they are opening for avreichim,you have to call your rosh chabura and register...

I have yet to see a psak that uses that svara.
I also think that it is quite stretch to say it.

I saw it. But regardless - we see it all over shas. All I asked is why the Poskim that are using Makkas Medina need it. I don’t think that was answered.

Just curious why everyone is quick to publicize when the rabanim say you don’t have to pay, but not when they say you have to?
