To me the main thing is 2 day shipping. Easy to get free extended shipping without prime...

amazon prime never promised 2 day delivery from order date... it has always been 2 day shipping. something changed in that regard? im still getting packages in 2 days from shipment on average

Not true at all. They used to have a guaranteed delivery date. Granted they started pulling the shtick you are talking about before coronavirus....

They decided to become a for profit charity organization at this time that will prioritize shipping medical equipment to the front lines. Don't get me wrong, it's admirable, but why on our dime? It shouldn't be forced on us. They should have given every prime member a choice to opt in to slower shipping for the time being to help them help the front lines.

That doesnt make sense to me. What does 2-day shipping mean to me if it ships in a week? What do i care what form of shipping they paid for?  Point is from order date.

& on the customer side, if you buy a flight & it gets delayed by 6 hours most people expect some form of compensation from the airline. One of the main benefits of Prime that Amazon promotes is two days shipping, which has been almost non-existent the past month and a half. Yes the analogy isn’t perfect but the point is they’re not delivering on what they promised when you signed up for the service.

You would've needed to pay for shipping on each of those individually of you were not getting for free from prime. That would be a hassle and you would be calculating shipping in your head and would push off ordering until you had a couple things or not order at all.

Yes, it would be a bit of a pain, but that's not what I pay for. Again everyone has a reason why it's important to them, but I and many others pay so we will get it very quickly. (That is one main reason why I usually shop at Amazon over other stores as well)
