I got my first symptoms about 5.5 weeks ago. I did not get tested, but I am certain I got it. Had bad cough, fever, body aches, and lost my smell (together with the rest of my family).
It is now almost 6 weeks later and I am STILL coughing up phlegm. I don't have any other symptoms but I just cannot seem to shake this cough.
You're not alone I can't either seem to fully shake off this virus - most symptoms went away but still lingering headache/sinus burning sensation throat/nose... I thought I've read of some people with mild symptoms just taking azithromycin and after a few days feeling all better. (I know most people will say it's coincidental as they only had a mild case and probably would have gotten better without it but the people that seem to have taken it did not have mild symptoms lasting for weeks!!) I know it officially doesn't work for viruses but maybe it works a bit on mild cases or better yet it's officially being used for secondary infections - maybe that's what you have... My doctor prescribed for me the azithromycin debating on trying it - anyone out there just used azithromycin and feel totally better no lingering symptoms?

Of course it makes sense, that's why they took both tests. It was in response to the comment regarding people acting like a positive antibody test means there's no need for any further caution.
they currently believe it's no longer contagious even with a positive test.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Someone I know tested positive for the virus and for antibodies on the same day earlier this week.

Same. He shared the antibody results printout, but I don’t know what to make of it.

Every major lab including LabCorp and Quest will be testing for antibodies starting Monday.

Same 99.5% accuracy as the “reliable” tests?

Ask ur DR.

While I'm guessing no one knows forsure, there are some prominent Dr. taking this approach.

I know that RSV can get a positive test even after 9 months of HAVING  the virus. It has to do with some dead cells in the body and does not indicate being contagious.

Its possible many of these tests showing are cheaper tests or tests that can show even dead cells.
Always praying for delayed baggage.

Many people have said there’s a strong possibility of dead virus cells causing positive tests but is there any evidence either way right now? AFAIK it’s a relatively new phenomenon (as people were not being retested anywhere outside of SK until very recently) that hasn’t been fully studied yet

WHO should not be trusted

CNN has an agenda

I feel the same about people who say they’re sure that antibodies = immunity. Hence, I’m going to err on the side of caution for now.

You are right about both of those, though CNN having an agenda has no bearing on the statement.

Then again, you can’t write off everything the WHO says, especially since we’ve been relying on them for much of what we know. Also, they have no reason to lie about this. Why would they?

How many lives would you risk based on this being one of the items affected by that?

When I see what actually works.
Maybe when Sweden announces they have heard immunity, I'll look at their new infection rate and make a determination from there.

It’s smart to wait until the Nachshon shows results. But keep in mind we may not have all the data from there for another couple of months. Are we ready to wait that long?

Either way, the WHO was not saying it’s not possible, just that it hasn’t been proven. They weren’t mechadesh anything, just warning off people who are being foolish.

I heard Dr. Birx saying last week that she hasn't yet seen enough evidence that you could get the virus a second time. Which would mean that the standard way of thinking would be that you can't get it again, like all other viruses that we know, until proven otherwise. So why would you need evidence that you can't get it again?

There isn’t enough evidence because it hasn’t been around long enough, That’s like when they said there isn’t any evidence of community spread, until there was, because they didn’t have adequate testing or time to know. The standard of thinking is it *may or may not*  be like those viruses of which you DON’T get immunity (the common cold), as opposed to those (like most flus) which you do get some immunity for some time.

Not knowing the answer to something which is impossible to answer as of yet has no bearing on reality. Even if there is, they don’t understand the parameters of it yet.

Because acting before you know will mean people may die?

The virus might mutate into double Dutch chocolate on May 4th. I will need evidence of that first before I let down my guard, though.
