You could also just simply glean that from the data that is coming out and not spend resources on a study that right now has no real need from a scientific standpoint.
Why do you keep saying there’s no real scientific need? Scientists want to know everything about this virus, and that is just about the most important thing to know about the virus right now
Nothing in life is certain and nothing in life is risk free. Flying on a plane has some risk driving has even more but still a very minor risk. We try mitigating that risk as much as possible by driving responsibly etc..
While the assumption as of now in the scientific community is that you cannot get reinfected that is not 100%. Purposely trying to reinfect yourself is stupid. Relying on that to make a rational decision to ease up on quarantine especially in conjunction with basic precautions is very sensible. It's a question of mitigating the risk. Thing are never black and white.
You do make a valid point. However, the attitude of many I know is that once you had it, you’re definitely “immune”, medical disagreement notwithstanding. That said, wouldn’t these people subject themselves to such a trial for pay and contribution to science? People do much riskier things in the name of research all the time
