Remote Management - iPhone

I have an iphone 12 I purchased off CL a year ago. Never had any issues. Tonight, I upgraded to the latest iOS. and it says I need to login in to USPS - remote management.
Cant do anything else with phone. From what Ive googled, this means it was a company phone. Perhaps stolen?
I just dont know why it worked for a year with no issues.
Is there anything I can do at this point? Any rollback? I'm at my wits end.

Thanks. Seems complicated and then also it cannot save from a i cloud backup point.
Alternate question: If i leave it bricked and buy a new one, will i be able to zap over my contacts and info from my bricked phone to my new one?
