For IFTTT, you can make your own. For the trigger, choose RSS and put in https://www.dansdeals.com/feed/. For the action, put in email and use the default template they give you.
Then you could set a gmail filter to forward the email to sms.

I haven't tried notifications on mobile. Do you have email on your phone? You could then do email notifications with IFTTT for free (every 15 minutes) or if Dan sets up something with zapier and webhooks, or an instant email notification with every new post that could work.

Seeing so many talks here about IFTTT when I have no clue what it means.

For some non tech guy like me , can you give a short rundown what it is and what it does ?

It's a platform where people can make simple programs and allow others to use them. Stands for If This Then That, which is the typical programming sequence. Some of the programs are built to take tweets and automatically post them on another platform. That is especially useful when trying to get tweets via SMS. (There is no program on IFTTT that will send tweets to SMS directly. But it can send them to Group Me or Email, which can then be forwarded to SMS.)

Great! If the SMS part works well you may want to compare this version with another using RSS as the 'this'. I wonder which is faster (as there is a delay between post and tweet, but RSS has a delay too)
