Why can't we just keep using GroupMe but without the links? I think it's pretty safe to assume that the primary demographic of people who rely on the texts are flip phone users, who anyways usually can't follow the link and would need to find a computer to visit the site.

Am I missing something?

thats whats screwing it up? then yea i would like to not get the links and if someone does then they can either pay for the premium option or use the other methods of notifications lol

I would think that most people that texting is the only option don't either have a browser and when they see a deal they are interested in they go to the computer to find it (meaning they dont need the links in the text either way). So if Groupme will work better with no links (which I have my doubts about but I BH moved all my chats to Remind so I don't really know) then maybe you just need to send out a PSA that the groupme option will only be a notification without links and if you have a smartphone switch to a more reliable option.

Although not sure how that will work with you IFTT

Personal preference for me, looks more legit as well IMHO

I dislike all shortened links, it's less transparent of where I'm going.
Amazons new links also really annoy me

You can update the post now and tell people there wont be links so people don't choose it if other options work for for them

What if we went back to the original of this method, that it comes from Twitter?
Was that part of Elons 3rd party API breaking spree? Or are those links blocked too?
