The Amazing Race
« on: April 24, 2020, 09:47:42 PM »
Could not find a thread about this, here ya go.

Now that I'm binging TAR (thanks Dan),
the Amazing Race is an awesome show that will also give you some great ideas on where to travel after we've defeated coronavirus.

did I miss a rule about airplane transportation only being allowed - if part of a 'route info' card?

Season 3 Episode 2, Derek and Drew got the fast forward.

Why did they take a 24 hour bus from Mexico City to Cancun, if they could have taken a 2.5 hour plane ride - ( maybe paid for by the show - as per the rules) and get a much better lead on their peers?!
Make stuff happen.

me too thanks @Dan

I'm up to season two. i find it a bit difficult to binge since the 20 year old quality isnt the greatest and we are spoiled at this time. but overall enjoying it.

to your point,  yes, usually the means of allowable transportation are on the card.  i believe in season one someone was also punished for using the wrong means

Quality gets better with each season :D
I read somewhere Hulu has better quality TAR than Amazon, not sure if true.

Season 8 where families ran together was my least favorite. Cute seeing kids run and I'd have loved to do it, but as a viewer the challenges and places visited were meh.

Loaded question - wish I could do all!!

Some things from season 2

Play volleyball in Rio not using hands.

Dance with the troupe, and raise tips in Cape town.

Walk through a cave of bats in Thailand

Find opals in the Australia Outback...

As the seasons move along, it seems like they are making tasks more and more to do with the culture and city they are in.
Quite neat.
Make stuff happen.
