I am strongly against those unless they are rationalized for the public interest. Some subsidies are necessary, such as offshore drilling, farm subsidies to prevent crop oversupply, fuel efficient vehicle incentives, etc. Many are just sweetheart deals courtesy of a well fed politician. The drop in corporate tax rate to 21% was far too much, and is extremely regressive.

Seriously? So stimulus checks are for both weak and strong economies? Why bother with an economy at all? Let the government just print money. Oh wait, take a look at Zimbabwe and Venezuela.

I was only kidding in that response about how it looks like begging. But the real answer is I hope not because every check is overdrawing our nation's account. Rampant inflation is obvious everywhere you look (even though CPI manages to understate it). We've got a huge spending problem and it's not going into long-term growth places. We also have a huge wealth accumulation problem and what's gradually happening is the dollar's value is eroding. I've sacrificed a lot to try and save for security and retirement and all of these policies hurt me personally.

An infrastructure stimulus bill might be a different story - build new highways or widen existing ones, add bridges and trains to developing metro-satellites... that's Eisenhauer type stuff that really did make our country great.

We can't buy American. Even when you think you are, you're not. Buying an Apple phone instead of Samsung? That's China. Buying Ford or GM instead of Toyota? That's Mexico and a dozen other countries. It's a global economy and most goods are sourced globally
